Privacy
Short, because we collect very little. Longer than it was, because the tracker stores what you record.
If you download the tracker
We store the email address you enter, which resource you asked for, and the page you asked from. That's the whole record. We use it to send you the tracker and, occasionally, a new guide. We don't sell it, rent it, or pass it to advertisers.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. To have your address deleted entirely, write to [email protected] and we'll remove it.
Analytics
We use PostHog to count page views and see which guides people actually read, so we know what to write next. It records pages visited, rough location derived from IP, and device type. We don't use it to build advertising profiles, and there are no third-party ad trackers on this site.
If you create an account
Reading the guides and downloading the tracker need no account. The trial tracker at paws.allernote.com/app does, and that account is shared with AllerNote, our allergen scanner for people — signing up on either site gives you one login for both. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google), which sees your email address.
What you record about your pet is stored on our servers so it is there when you come back: their name, species, breed, age and weight, the food you log, the symptoms you log, and any triggers you flag. It is private to your account. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
Vet report links
When you create a vet report, we generate a long random web address that shows that report to anyone who opens it — no password, because your vet shouldn't need an account to read it. Treat the link like a document you've emailed: anyone you forward it to can read it.
Links stop working after 90 days, and you can revoke one at any time from the report screen. A revoked or expired link shows nothing. Reports are snapshots taken at the moment you create them, so editing your log afterwards does not change a link you've already sent.
What we never collect
No payment details
No third-party ad trackers
Nothing sold or rented
Deleting your data
Archiving a pet keeps its history; deleting a pet permanently removes it and everything logged against it. To delete your whole account and all of its records, write to [email protected] and we'll remove it, including on the AllerNote side.
